Improvements in wind turbine technology now mean that low to medium wind speed sites can generate equivalent energy output to high wind speed sites. Therefore proximity to the transmission network and site access can be the most important factors in overall site development.
The company has undertaken a detailed analysis of North Eastern Mexico focusing on a number of factors being proximity to the transmission network, regional electricity demand profile, terrain analysis and site access.
Through this process sites are identified and then further on-site assessment is undertaken in conjunction with our consultant engineers before sites are brought forward.
While there are 5,000MW’s+ of wind projects being developed in Mexico many have not progressed as they are located in areas where there is limited/no transmission network and relatively low electricity demand.
The intention is to bring the sites selected through the early stages of the development cycle up to pre-construction phase and then into operation.
